Adherencia al tratamiento rehabilitador ambulatorio, y factores asociados a la misma, en pacientes adultos que asisten a Instituto de Neurociencias de la ciudad de Rosario

Abstract

Introducción: Varios son los motivos por los cuales es importante estudiar la adherencia al tratamiento rehabilitador. Si un paciente no cumple con las indicaciones médicas se dificulta estimar efecto y duración del tratamiento. Objetivos: Describir el grado de adherencia al tratamiento rehabilitador ambulatorio en pacientes adultos con diagnóstico de patología neurológica que asisten a INECO Neurociencias Oroño. Materiales y Métodos: Estudio transversal, observacional, cuantitativo, descriptivo. Resultados: Se incluyeron 96 pacientes, de edad promedio 57 años, con leve predominio femenino. La adherencia presentó un valor medio del 76%. La cronicidad del evento y el tiempo de asistencia al programa evidenciaron diferencias entre patologías, pero sin encontrarse asociación con el grado de adherencia. Tampoco se observaron diferencias significativas entre los distintos rasgos de personalidad, ni entre las diferentes variables de funcionamiento familiar. Conclusiones: Predominó el grado alto de adherencia entre los evaluados. No se evidenció asociación entre los grados de adherencia y las variables analizadas. Sin embargo, teniendo presente la edad media de nuestra población, con múltiples factores que pueden influir en la instancia de rehabilitación, considero igualmente de jerarquía poder contar con esta información al momento del diseño de cada programa de rehabilitación. Fututos trabajos serían necesarios para profundizar en el subgrupo poblacional de bajo grado de adherencia.

Introduction: For several reasons it is important to study rehabilitative treatment adherence. If a patient does not comply with the medical indications, it is difficult to estimate the effect and duration of the treatment. Objectives: to describe the degree of adherence to rehabilitation treatment in adult patients with a diagnosis of neurological pathology attended in INECO Neurosciences Oroño. Materials and Methods: Cross-sectional, observational, quantitative, descriptive study. Results: 96 patients were included, average age of 57 years, with a predominance of the female sex. Adhesion presented an average value of 76%. The chronicity of the event and the time of attendance to the program showed differences according to the pathology involved, but no association was found with the degree of adherence. No differences were observed between the different personality traits, nor between the different variables of family functioning. Conclusions: The high degree of adherence prevailed among those evaluated. No association was observed between the different degrees of adherence and the variables analyzed. However, bearing in mind the middle age of our population, and the multiple factors that can influence in rehabilitation, I consider it is important to have this information to design each rehabilitation program. Future studies would be necessary to analyze the lowadherence population subgroup.
